How bad is the Dublin housing situation?

Bad enough to factor into the decision. Students routinely pay €900–€1,400 a month for a room. Cork and Galway are materially cheaper and have the same post-study permission.

What is the Third Level Graduate Programme?

It lets master graduates stay for 24 months to look for work, and bachelor graduates for 12 months, with full permission to work while searching.

Do Irish universities offer scholarships?

Yes, mostly partial: €2,000–€10,000 fee reductions applied automatically at offer stage or by separate application. UCD and Trinity both run schemes covering up to full tuition for a small number of students.

Is Ireland cheaper than the UK?

Tuition is generally lower, but Dublin living costs are comparable to London. Outside Dublin, total cost is meaningfully lower.

Study in Ireland

Ireland pairs an English-language education system with the European headquarters of most large US technology and pharmaceutical firms, and a two-year post-study permission. The binding constraint is not admission — it is accommodation, particularly in Dublin, and it should shape which university you choose.

Typical tuition: €12,000–€26,000 / year
Living cost: €1,100–€1,600 / month
Work while studying: 20 hrs / week
Post-study stay: 24 months
Main intakes: September, January
Teaching language: English
