Why is UK tuition so much higher than Germany?

UK universities receive far less state funding for international students and price close to full cost. Compare total cost rather than annual: a twelve-month UK master at £30,000 can end up close to a two-year European master once you count a second year of living costs and a year of lost earnings.

What is the Graduate Route?

A post-study visa that lets you stay for two years after a bachelor or master (three after a PhD) and work in any job at any level, without needing employer sponsorship.

How much money do I need to show for the visa?

Your first year of tuition plus £1,483 per month for up to nine months if studying in London, or £1,136 per month outside London. The funds must sit in an eligible account for 28 consecutive days.

Are scholarships realistic?

Partial awards of £3,000–£10,000 are common and worth applying for. Full scholarships such as Chevening exist but are extremely competitive and have their own separate, earlier deadlines.

UK master degrees take twelve months rather than two years, which changes the arithmetic: tuition per year is high, but you pay it once and enter the job market a year earlier. The two-year Graduate Route lets you stay and work after finishing without needing a sponsor first.

Living cost: €1,100–€1,800 / month
